1. I studied in the University of Puerto Rico in Carolina from 1977 to 1981, when I finished my associate degree since I both worked and studied. Then I continued studying to finish my Bachelor’s degree in the Rio Piedras campus, which I finished in 1992.
ResponderEliminar2. I got was a Bachelor’s degree of Secretarial Science.
3. I have been working since 1978 as a secretary until the present time in the UPR-Carolina.
4. In 1978 I started working as a part-time secretary and messenger for Aspira of PR and after a year, I started working full time. Then in 1982, the federal proposal became part of the University under the name of Educational Services and I stayed as Secretary Adm. II until 1992, when I passed the Pre-Intervention office as Secretary Adm. III and after several years as Secretary Adm. IV. Then in 2006, I accepted the post of Secretary Adm. V in the budget office. After eleven months -in September 2007- I go to a position as an Assistant to the Dean of Administration, which played for four years since the Budget’s Senior Director was then appointed as the Dean of Administration. In January 2011, I opted for the job as Executive Secretary I of the Dean of Administration to the present time.

Answering calls from the university community, to resolve these issues with the permission of the Dean. Prepare reports for internal and external audits. Scan and archive office documents for easy access when needed. Coordinate meetings, establish logistics, citation to it, snacks etc. Prepare vouchers, requisitions, letters, any official document. Handling the petty cash, which is the fun for small emergency purchases. Something important of my responsibilities is to listen and help people.
7. Yes, I love my job. I really love it. To resolve the unexpected, day by day, some are small and others are annoying but I call them anecdotes of daily living and with these, I can learn more. It helps to know that I provide to everyone the visual, written and physical things for my Dean. If I'm not passionate about my work, I could never say: “Good morning, can I help you?”
8. My work hours are from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, Mondays to Fridays. I get Saturdays, Sundays and holidays free.
9. My current salary is $ 3,660.
10. My fringe benefits are a retirement plan, health plan covered by the UPR. I have tallied 30 vacation days and 18 sick days per year. The right to report me due to a labored accident to the State Insurance Fund. A salary increase for studies, and in every five years of service, I receive a five-year $25 increase, which increases to $5.00 for every five years of service. We have a priority when leaving the calls to positions deemed qualified first to those already working at the University.
11. I will work until January 2014, as I will receive retirement after 34 years of service.
12. I work at the University of Puerto Rico at Carolina in the office of the Dean of Administration.
13. I came to work here because at the beginning of my studies in the UPR-Carolina in the Faculty of Secretarial Science, I accepted the post of secretary and part-time messenger to help my mother with educational expenses. The student atmosphere and becoming familiar with the worker of Aspira, as a student in 1977, helped me get this job and this was a blessing to my life. In this, I have progressed. I have served people with all my love and joy every day. Now after years of experience, I still do it with more love because I have the maturity to handle different situations every day. I have made very dear friends and I am appreciated by my coworkers. After 2014, I will begin another stage in my life; to make way for the new generation.
